Abstract: The results of stomach contens analysis of twelve Falco sparverius shot during 1985-1987 are given. This is the first contribution to the knowledge of the feeding ecology of this bird in the Middle Parana River F1oodplain. The study was carried out in order to know the feeding spectrum, prey size and niche breadth. The results shown a carnivorous diet, consisting of inscets, rodents and amphibians, with 7 taxa. The values of the relative importance indcx bring out the predominance of the inscets, particularly the Acrididae. The remaining taxa, should be secondary food categories. In relation to seasonal variation ofthe diet, it was observcd that the diet was uniform throughout the year.
Abstract: The nest of the Patagonian Tyrant (Ochthoeca parvirostris) is discribed. Differences with the one described by Zotta (1939) may suggest that this authordoes not refers to the same species.

Abstract: A brief study of bird community was carried out in Laguna Socompa (Salta, Argentina) between 19 November-6 December 1984. Twenty-seven bird species were registered; 16 terrestrial and 11 aquatic and shorebirds. Lessonia rufa and Hirundo rustica were the most abundant of terrestrial birds. Lophonetta specularioides, Anas flavirostris and Larus seranus were the most abundant of waterbirds. The relationships bctween habitat complexity, habitat use frequency for birds and species diversity, in three places of lake, are discussed. Five functionals gropus (or spatia1 associations) were distinguished in base habitat use frequency. They are: 1. saltish water birds (Phoenicopterus chilensis and Phoenicoparrus andinus); 2 shorebirds (Recurvirostra andina, Charadrius alticola, Anas flallirostris and Lophonetta specularioides);3. freshwater and puddle birds (Larus serranus and Calidris bairdii); 4. swamps birds (Lessonia rufa, Hirundo rustica, Thinocorus orbygnianus, Anthus correndera and Petrochelidon sp) and 5. rocky-shrubberies birds (Muscisaxicola rufivertex, M. maculirostris and Sicalis uropygialis).
Abstract: The song of the House Wren (Troglodytes aedon) in two eastern Argentina arcas (Luján and Magdalena) is described. Song is typically composed by different syllable types repetitively delivered, thus conforming phrases. There is a significant difference in the mean number of syllable types per song between Magdalena and Luján populations. This difference is associated with the tendency in Magdalena's songs to be shorter and with fewer syllables than the Luján ones. This report critically discusses current evidence of vocal imitation learning, and offers some new data concerning trus ability in T. aedon, based on the observation of intraspecific song sharing of interindividual variable syllable types.
